Etymology

Debdale Lodge is Depedalehul c. 1200PipewellA , Depedale 1293 AD iii, Depedale Huille n.d. AD vi. 'Deep valley,' v. deop . This is clearly the (on ) deopandene in the bounds of Kettering (infra 184 n.), with an interesting replacement of English denu by Scandinavian dale (v. dalr ).
