Etymology

Nab Lane (6″) is Nabbe 1247PeterbB , c. 1400Rental , le Nab c. 1400Rental , Nabbewode c. 1400Rental , Nobbs , Poston Nabbs 1764Deed , Nob Wood 1823 B. This is clearly ON  nabbr , nabbi , 'projecting peak' or 'knoll.' Cf. le nabbe in Brampton Ash (1231 WellsR). The application here is uncertain as we no longer know where the nab was.
