Etymology

Cf. OE  lusebyrge (Herts) BCS 745, Lusabeorg BCS 699, and lusdun BCS 1020, which all contain OE  lūs 'louse.' v. haugr .'Louse mound.' One should also note the ON  name Lúsi (LindBN) from ON  lús . Perhaps here a pers. name would give the better sense.
