Etymology

Knowle Green is Knowl Green 1680 S and was probably by the home of Richard de la Knolle (1294Ass ) and William at Knoll (1446WAM ), v. cnoll . There is a very slight elevation here, which would have been conspicuous amid the surrounding dead-level country.
