Etymology

Osidge is boscus de Osehegh 1317, Osehegge 1376Ct , 1426, 1427Cassio , Hossegge 1538 VCH ii, 341, Ousage , Owsage 1551 Pat. The second element is 'hedge.' It is probable that the wood called Huzeheog t. Ric 1 (1301) Ch refers to this place, but if so the form is too corrupt to be of any value for etymological purposes.
