Etymology
'Brēme's valley', v. cumb . The OE pers.n. Brēme (as in Bromsgrove Wo 336) possibly occurs also in Brimpsfield (144infra ). OE , ME brēme 'famous, fierce' (with which the pers.n. is ultimately connected) frequently becomes brim (m )e from the 13th century.
