Etymology

Aylesmore Brook & Aylesmore Court, Aylmersbrooke c. 1340 For, Aylmoresbroke 1355 Heref, the Ellismoores 1651ParlSurv , Aylesmore (Aylesmorebrook , Aylesmorehouse ) 1549 StBr, 1779 Rudder 307–8. Possibly 'Æþelmǣr's brook', from the OE  pers.n. Æþelmǣr , v. brōc ; and for ME  Ail - for Æþel - cf. Feilitzen 102–6.
