Etymology

'The great farmstead', v. micel (with the wk.obl. miclan giving the ME  -in - forms, cf. Phonol. § 49), tūn . In DB Mickleton had a hidage of 24 against Aston Subedge 4, Dorsington 2¼, Pebworth 12 and Quinton 14, and it was by far the largest manor in this area.
