Etymology

'Ic(c)a's valley', v. cumb . An OE  pers.n., which occurs also in Icangæt (infra ), is discussed s.n. Ickford (Bk 124). The church is mentioned in 1271, 1289 Episc, 1291 Tax, etc. The spellings Iacumbe , Iecumbe may be misreadings of la Cumbe , le Cumbe and refer to foll.
