Postcombe, on posecumbes heafdon c. 800 (11th) BCS 299, Puscombe 1824 M. The first el. may be a form of the rare OE  posa , pusa 'bag' used in some figurative sense to describe a hollow. v. cumb 'valley', hēafod 'head'.
