Etymology

'Farmstead near the pool', v. pull , tūn . There are pools at Poulton Court, which is also near an inlet from the Severn at Brims Pill. The same pull may be referred to in the local surname atte Pulle 1327SR , 1358GR 421. Cf. Poulton (i, 79supra ).
