Woolthrop (lost), 1830 M, Wulthrope 1584Comm , Woldripp 1619 Aug. v. þrop 'dependent farmstead'; it is now called Slowwe Ho.The first el. may be OE  wull 'wool', denoting 'a sheep farm'.
