Glass Marsh (lost), Glasmersch c. 1250 Berk, Glasemerestrete 1375 Ipm. Names in Glass - are always difficult, and this name and Glasspool Mill (iii, 101 infra ) may contain a Celtic river-name connected with PrWelsh  glas 'blue, green' (v. glassjo-); cf. also the f.n. Glass Clift (177infra ).
