Etymology

This is the largest of the Rodings and was formerly called Great (Magna Roynges 1235 FF) and Alba (1121–36WDB ), Blanche (1237 FF), Quyte (1247 ib.) from the whiteness of the church walls which are mostly made of rubble. v. Roding supra 490–1.
