Etymology

Wealdgullet is le Golet 1373 Cl, Welde Colet 1470AddCh , Wyldgolet 1485 Pat, Weld Gullett 1659 Battle. Cf. le Gulet (in Havering) t. Ed 3Ass and The Gullet (PN Nth 46, 165). This is the small stream which rises near Ongar Park Wood, and flows north into the Cripsey Brook. Cf. Le Goulet (Gaillon, France).
