Etymology

Dagenhams, Dagnam Park is Dakenham (tenement )1378, 1385 HPD, Dagenham (me )s 1384HarlR , 1464 Pat, Dagnam (y )s 1495 Ipm, 1510 LP. Land was held in 1334 by John de Dovere of William de Dageham (Dakenham ) at Delle (Ipm). The name is manorial in origin. Dellebregge was where the London- Chelmsford road crosses the Ingrebourne (Fisher 22), i.e. at Putwell Bridge infra 138, which is not far from Dagenhams.v. dell .
