Etymology

'Possa 's moor,' v. mor . Possa does not occur independently, but cf. Posbury (PN D 406), where other examples of its use in place-names are noted. Similarly Posbrook in Titchfield (Ha), Possebroc 1202 Cur (p). For intrusive r cf. Parsloes supra 92.v. Introd. xxxvii.
