Etymology

Huskett's Mills (6″) is Hurscardesmell 1272Ass , Huskardesmell 1404Ct , Huskerdesmedowe , Huskerdesmyll 1523MinAcct , Huskeartes , Huskecotesmill 1575Sessions , Huscats Mead , Paper Mill 1762Mowden . The first element is clearly some Anglo-Norman pers. name. The latter name still survives locally for the mill and in Paper Mill Bridge (6″) (pons de Husgradem [ell ]eb [r ]i [gg ]e 1272Ass ). Kelly's Directory gives it as Livermore Mill from its owner in 1809.
