Starling Hall (local). Cf. Starling meade 1497Egerton , wall called Colewall otherwise Sterlyngeswall 1500 AD vi. The wall was one of several sea-walls mentioned in local documents.Cf. Warewalla (West Ham) 1200 FF and Wallend infra 95.Sterlynges from the family of John Starlynge of Hamme (1397 Cl).
