Etymology

'Bil (l )a 's farmstead,' v. tun . There are other Biltons in WRY.The pers. name is probably OE  Billa (cf. Bilton, PN NbDu 22), though in some cases we may have an OE  Byl (l )i as in Bullinghope (He) or OScand  Billi .
