Etymology

North Frodingham, about 20 miles away, and Frodingham (L), Frodingham 1125–8 Liber Niger Petroburg. (Camden Soc.), Frothingham 1316 FA, are of similar origin, from OE  Frōd (a ) and ingaham. The frequent -th - is due to the influence of OScand  Fróði .
