Etymology
Bug Dale (6″) is Buchdale 13thKirkham . Possibly of the same origin as Bug Dale supra 124, though the occasional spellings of Bugthorpe (which is a mile away) with Buke - (v. infra 149) suggest a connexion with that name. Buck Wood is a few hundred yards from Bug Dale. v. Buckrose supra 119.
