Applegarth Lane (6″) is Appelgard 1279 YI, Appelgarth 1401 ib., Applegarth (e )1349 Ipm, 1568 FF, Appulgarth (e )1410 YI, Appilgarth (e )1415 ib.et freq to 1534 FF. 'Orchard' or 'enclosure with an apple- tree,' v. æppel , garðr . Cf. Applegarth (PN NRY 293) and Danish Abildgaard (DaSN(Sj) iii, 50).
