Etymology
Names such as this and Little Joy, infra 474, were probably given either to a particularly barren and unproductive piece of land or possibly in some cases to a dilapidated or ruined dwelling. Cf. also Little Regarded in Kenwyn (Co), so marked in Martyn's map (1748).
