Etymology

'Sheep-wash stream,' v. (ge)wæsc, burna . One manor was held by Richard Baucan in 1238 (FF) and 1242 (Fees), another by one Walter in 1303 (FA) and the third by the family who held the manor of Dorsely (infra 325) in 1242 (Fees 795).
