Etymology

The farm is near the river Bray supra 2, and the modern form is therefore probably corrupt. 'Broad' may have the sense of 'great,' 'chief,' as in Broad Clyst, Broadhempston infra 573, 509, perhaps in relation to Knight's, High and South Bray infra and infra 346.
