This p.n., Takeley (Ess), DBTacheleia , and Tackley (O), DBTachelie , Takkelea 1175 P, Tackele 1196 FF, suggest an OE  pers. name Tǣcca , probably a reduced form of the recorded Tǣtica , hence 'Tæcca 's wood,' bearu .
