Etymology
The position of Fawepark between Swinside and Derwent Water suggests that the name contains fall in the sense 'slope' or 'declivity' (v. NED s. v. fall sb., 8). Professor Ekwall suggests, however, fall , 'forest clearing', an element well-evidenced in Lancashire (PN La 10).
