Etymology

Named from the R. Kennett supra 7. Kent (es )ford is Kentford (Sf), also on the Kennett, sometimes stated to be in Cambridgeshire.For Badlingham v. supra 190. farye is presumably for ferye , 'ferry,' with reference to some small ferry across the Kennett. For such an early use of the word cf. PN BedsHu 294.
