Ampthill (lost) is Amtehelle (s )1300, 1376Trinity , the Auntellys 1337 ib., Anthell 1400 ib., Antehyll 1402 ib., Amptehyll 1456 ib. 'Ant hill,' v. OE  ǣmete and hyll . Identical with Ampthill (PN BedsHu 67–8).
