Etymology

Park Fm (6″) is Shackledon Grange al. le Park 1637Cole xxxvii. The earlier name is Scacresden 1153 BM, Shakild 'n 1279 RH, Shakelden Graunge 1547 Pat, from OE  scēacere , 'robber' and denu . We probably have parallels in Schakeldene 1319Extent (West Wratting) and Saclesdell c. 1212Wymond (Steeple Morden). For interchange of r and l , v. IPN 106.
