Broomhall, Brumhala 1158 P, Bromhale 1204 ibet freq to 1262 Ch, Brumhal '1206 P, 'broom corner', v. brōm , h(e)alh. The places so named are on the borders of Berks and Sr, and the name is discussed Sr 154, but with somewhat later forms. h(e)alh probably refers to land in the corner of a parish, v. Bracknell 116.
