Etymology

The ecclesiastical parish of Sunningdale was formed in 1841 from portions of Old Windsor, Sunninghill, and the Surrey parishes of Windlesham, Egham and Chobham. It was made into a civil parish in 1894 (Kelly 229).Eden (1800) shows a place called Sunning Hill Dale in this area. v. Sunninghill infra 88.
