Etymology

'Farm in marshy land', v. mōr , tūn , and v. DEPN for other examples of this common name. Land in the vicinity of both settlements is divided up by the canalised courses of numerous small tributaries of Mill Brook. The form of c. 895 occurs in the boundaries of an adjacent estate, v. Pt 3.
