Borne Copse, Burne Copice , Le Bourne Copice 1547LRMB . Cf. Boornwater 1619Windsor , presumably the stream (not named on the 6″ map) which flows into the Kennet. v. burna 'stream'. This may be the original ened-burna which gave name to the parish, v. supra .
