, Ungayne Lodge 1612 Whit 231 , ME  ungayne ( ON úgegn ' not direct ' ( of roads ) ) , perhaps in allusion to a track which goes on the outside of a loop of the R . Wharfe , but it also meant ' inconvenient ' and may have described the lodge , v. loge .
