, cf . ' the only trades now ( 1870 ) maintained are those in connection with hides and barley . There are three houses which carry on the working of hides … A coarse kind of leather glove , gaiters , & c. are made here ' ( Hutch3 415 ) . Three men are listed here as ' fellmonger andglove maker ' in 1824 Pigot , but for evidence of these trades here at a much earlier date , cf. John Lange , glover and John Phelpot , tannere in1419 DorR .
