Etymology

Possibly 'Ēana 's open space,' v. feld . Alternatively Ekwall (DEPN) suggests the possibility of a lost OE  *ēan , 'lamb,' cognate with Latin agnus . Cf. OE  ēanian , 'to yean.' Field (v. feld ) here no doubt refers to a cleared space in the woodland of which Enfield Chase was a part.
