Whitkirk
Parish in the County of West Riding of Yorkshire
Etymology
Whitkirk (117infra ) did not form a township. The townships of Temple Newsam, Osmondthorpe, Seacroft and Thorpe Stapleton are now in Leeds County Borough. Halton was at one time a separate township in Whitkirk parish and included Osmondthorpe (which was, however, actually in the parish of Leeds, 1822 Langd 371).
