Etymology
The Urban District of Adwick le Street also includes the Carcroft part of Owston township and Skellow township, both in Osgoldcross wapentake (ii, 31 infra ), as well as the Langthwaite part of the former township of Langthwaite with Tilts (cf. 26supra ).
