Etymology

Ullenhall borders on Oldberrow (PN Wo 267), Ulenbeorge in BCS 124, while in the bounds of Oldberrow, close to Ullenhall, we have ulanwyllan . It is difficult to say whether all three places were so called because frequented by owls (OE  ūle ) (cf. Johnston, PN EW 486) or whether that word had come to be used as a pers. name.
