Washwood Heath is Wasshewode 1454 IpmR, Wachwood 1525SR , Weysshewode 1528FF , Washewood 1544SR , Washwood Heath 1759 Map. Wash Brook (Wash brook ib.) forms the south-eastern boundary of Washwood Heath and Saltley. The first element in these two names is probably (ge)wæsc. There is a small stream here.
