Choller Fm

Early-attested site in the Parish of Walberton

Etymology

Choller Fm is probably the place called Cholewerʒe in the Boxgrove Cartulary (f 8d ), with the common confusion of ʒ and þ .The name would then be 'Cēola 's enclosure,' v. worþ , with the same weakening of the second element as in G umber supra 97 and Imber (PN Sr 16).
