Buckingham Ho is Bukkyngham in 1550 (SRS 19, 74). The name is of manorial origin, deriving from the Buckingham family, first mentioned in connexion with Shoreham c. 1230 (Sele ), when John de Bukyngham was steward of Sir John de Braiosa.
