Etymology

Wivelridge (lost) is Wyueregg '1248Ass , Wyuelerugg '1332 SR, Wyueleregge 1344 BM, Welmeregge 1539 LP. This is a com- pound of hrycg and the OE  pers. name Wifela (v. PN Wo 247) or the noun wifel , 'weevil,' hence 'weevil-infested hill.' Wivelridge is one of the 'borghs' of Goldspur Hundred, comprising Tillingham, Pelsham, Barline etc.
