Etymology

Norbelton (lost) is Norburton 1287CplM (bis), Norbelton , Norberton in 1327, 1332 SR (p), Norbelton t. Edw 3Add , Norbleton 1330–5 ib. This was probably a 'north' burhtun in relation to the not very distant Broughton or Burton in Jevington and Westburton in Friston.
