Douglaslake Fm is Dokellyslake in 1545 (VCH ). v. lacu . The first element is probably the pers. name Duccel seen in Ducklington (O). The pers. name Dokel , Dukel is found in Sussex in the Subsidy Rolls (v. Index to SRS 10).
