Henley

Etymology
This may be a corruption of the name that appears in Richard de Hundligh in Easebourne in 1296 (SR) and as Hounley in 1640 (SRS 14, 155), when the name would mean 'hound clearing,' v. hund , leah . It is difficult to believe that this rather important place is unrecorded.
