Ripshook and Scratlee
Early-attested site in the Parish of East Dean
Etymology
Ripshook and Scratlee (both 6″) are Rypes hooke and Scradhill in a 1587Rental . The forms are too late for any definite solution to be offered, though it may be that in the first we have the element noted under Ripsley supra 45.
