Etymology

OE  hæsel-(a)h, 'hazel wood.' Great Haseley is called Pippard from Ralph Pippard , mentioned 1278–9 RH in this connection and a member of the family which gave its name to Rotherfield Peppard 79–80. Pet . f. Oliveri de Parva Hasel is said ib. to hold land from him.
